Life seems to by faster and faster each year. The last time you had an update from me was
in May/June at the end of the last school year at ICSB. I attended graduation at ICSB, said goodbye
to a roommate, a friend and a house.
I’ve moved into a new place with a roommate and flew home to the States
to help with and participate in the wedding of my sister Amy to Matt
Collins. I’m now back in Budapest,
Hungary running full speed ahead into another school year.
Thank you for praying for my family and myself during our
busy and eventful summer. God is so
good, meeting Matt’s family was and is great and we’re excited to see what the
Lord has in store for Matt and Amy, for all of us. Would you pray for us, for our family and
Matt and Amy’s new family unit as we move forward from here? Would you pray for us as we transition into
uncharted territory, having a BROTHER-IN-LAW!? And a married sister!? Fortunately he’s a good one!
Another treat was getting to spend time with the Berhami
family when they came out to California from Texas for the summer. The girls and I went to the Monterey Bay
Aquarium. I had so much fun! I hadn’t been in years…and some of the
exhibits took my breath away… the wall of water 80 ft. x 80 ft. high? It was a privilege to get to spend time with
this family!
Life in Budapest moves at an alarmingly fast pace. We’ve been in school since the end of August
and we’re all learning the ropes again, as it were. I’m back in High School, you know, because
once wasn’t enough! Susanna is doing
well and enjoying high school even though it is a big adjustment from Middle
School for her. Please continue to pray
for her and myself as we navigate these uncharted waters. ICSB has never had a student with Susanna’s
specific needs. We have many trained and
proficient teachers who are here to help make this transition work, but like I
said, it’s all new territory. Please pray that her teachers including myself,
work with a clear vision, care for Susanna and keep what is best for her in
mind?
So that was my summer in a very small nutshell! I was so happy to see as many of you as I did
this summer. Amy’s wedding and shower
were helpful for that! Thank you for understanding
why my traveling was a little more limited to the area for the wedding. Being gone for so much of the planning from
January to June, I wanted and needed to be there for June, July and August. I dearly missed seeing some of you and hope
that I’ll see you my next trip to the States.
Thank you for praying for me; I love this life that God has
blessed me with and I’m honored that you are a part of it. Working at the International Christian School
of Budapest (ICSB) is an amazing experience, a life filled with purpose and
passion, and right now, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for helping me educate the next
generations. Thank you for also helping
me bring new missionaries to the field through my Recruiting job for the
school. A school always needs two
things, students and teachers. The
students we have, 260 this year actually from 22 different countries! What we always need are teachers. I count it a blessing to work with these
great kids everyday. I also find myself
in the amazing position of encouraging and bringing new missionaries to the
field and helping them see the vision for what God would have for their lives
overseas in ministry. What an amazing
and unique privilege it is. Thank you
for being a part of it and helping me continue in this life that God has called
me to through prayers, encouragement and financial support.
Thanks and God Bless!
